  • 2 tablespoons white miso paste
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha or chili paste (optional for heat)
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon neutral oil (avocado or canola)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 scallions, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together miso paste, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, maple syrup, ginger, garlic, and sriracha.
  3. Break tofu into 1-inch chunks and coat it in the marinade.
  4. Sprinkle cornstarch over the tofu and drizzle with neutral oil; toss to coat evenly.
  5. Arrange tofu in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 450°F for about 10 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  6. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced scallions before serving.
