Ingredients
- 1 head cauliflower (about 2 lbs), cut into 1-inch florets
- 2¾ cups all-purpose flour (divided)
- 1½ cups water
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Oranges (2), juiced and zested
- Ketchup
- Granulated sugar
- White vinegar
- Minced garlic
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, mix 1½ cups flour, garlic powder, and salt; set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together 1¼ cups flour, water, oil, salt, garlic powder, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Dredge cauliflower florets in batter then coat with seasoned flour before placing on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 10 minutes, flip the florets, then bake for another 10 minutes until golden brown.
- Combine orange juice and zest, ketchup, sugar, vinegar in a bowl; set aside.
- Sauté minced garlic with red pepper flakes in a saucepan; add the orange mixture and bring to boil.
- Stir in cornstarch slurry until thickened; toss baked cauliflower in sauce before serving.
