Ingredients

  • 1 pound lump crab meat
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (or panko)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat dry the crab meat.
  2. In one bowl, mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg.
  3. Coat the crab meat lightly with flour, dip into the egg wash, then roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and fry the crab pieces for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels before serving.
