  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 8 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pound each chicken breast to an even thickness of about 1/4 inch and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Layer two slices of ham and two slices of Swiss cheese on each chicken breast, then roll tightly and secure with toothpicks.
  4. Dredge each roll in flour, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.
  5. In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat and brown the chicken rolls for 4-5 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until cooked through.
  7. For the cream sauce, warm heavy cream in a saucepan; stir in Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and Parmesan until thickened.
  8. Let the chicken rest briefly before removing toothpicks and slicing. Serve with sauce drizzled over the top.
