Description

Red Velvet Cake Truffles are an exquisite treat that marries the classic flavors of red velvet cake with a rich chocolate coating. These bite-sized delights are perfect for any occasion, especially Valentine’s Day, and are guaranteed to impress your loved ones. With their vibrant color and creamy texture, these truffles are as fun to make as they are to eat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box red velvet cake mix (plus ingredients on the box)
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese (1/3 less fat), softened
  • 1 package (12 oz) chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white)
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red velvet cake according to package instructions and let it cool completely.
  2. Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a mixing bowl and add softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined.
  3. Roll the mixture into 42 balls (about 1 heaping tablespoon each) and place them on a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Chill in the fridge.
  4. Melt chocolate in a heatproof bowl, adding vegetable oil if desired. Dip each chilled ball into melted chocolate using a fork, tapping off excess before placing back on the baking sheet.
  5. Optionally drizzle additional melted chocolate on top for decoration and chill again until set.
