Ingredients
- 15.25 ounces red velvet cake mix
- 1 ¼ cups water
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- 20 ounces vanilla melting wafers
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch cake pan and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine red velvet cake mix, water, vegetable oil, and eggs as per package instructions. Pour the batter into the greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
- Crumble the cooled cake into fine crumbs in a bowl. Mix in softened cream cheese until well combined.
- Roll the mixture into balls (about 1.5 tablespoons each) and place on the prepared baking sheet. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Melt vanilla melting wafers in intervals of 20-30 seconds in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Dip each chilled ball into melted wafers using a fork, allowing excess to drip off before placing back on the sheet. Top with sprinkles if desired.
- Chill again until set.
