Ideal for date nights or family gatherings, this recipe combines elegance with the heartwarming familiarity of a classic pot pie.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ pound cooked lobster meat, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups seafood stock (or chicken stock)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (for biscuit topping)
  • ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté garlic, onion, and celery until soft. Stir in flour to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in seafood stock and cream until thickened. Add Old Bay seasoning, salt, pepper, shrimp, and lobster; cook until shrimp is pink.
  4. For the biscuit topping: combine flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Mix in cheese and gradually add milk.
  5. Spoon the filling into ramekins or a baking dish and drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough on top.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
